Precious Life members outside St Patrick's Church in Belfast
after the special Mass to launch Lent for Life
On Ash Wednesday (9th March) Precious Life launched the Lent for Life Campaign with a special Mass in St Patrick's Church in Belfast. Following the Mass, members of Precious Life held a "Lent for Life Prayer Vigil" outside the office of the Family Planning Association (FPA) in Shaftesbury Square (see more photos here..)

Lent for Life is powerful initiative will help end abortion and save the lives of unborn babies, through Prayer and Fasting, Community Outreach and Peaceful Vigils.

We hope our Lenten campaign will inspire people who have never been involved in pro-life activities to come forward and join the pro-life movement. We have already started distributing thousands of campaign leaflets across Northern Ireland.

During our Lent for Life Campaign we will place extras emphasis on encouraging more people to join our Daily prayer vigils outside the abortion referral centres in Belfast and Derry operated by the FPA.

We will be praying and fasting for the closure of these abortion agencies.

Back in 1999, it was prayer, fasting and peaceful pickets that led to the closure of the only other abortion agency in Northern Ireland – the Ulster Pregnancy Advisory Association (UPAA). Precious Life exposed the illegal activities of the UPAA which had been operating an “abortion referral ring” for over 28 years.

This Lent we pray the government funding to the FPA will be stopped and lead to the eventual closure of these agencies of death that are illegally sending women and girls to Britain to have their babies killed by abortion."
