26 / 03 / 2010 - Polish Women told: Head to Britain for your Free Abortion
Polish women are being urged to get free abortions on the British taxpayer.

Pro-abortion group SROM uses a model stripped to her underwear to encourage those with unwanted pregnancies to get rid of their babies in the UK.

On the poster, which has been put up across Poland, the model even sports the words “my choice” written in English across her stomach

But Joyce Robins ofBrit group Patient Concern slammed the campaign.

“The NHS is in a mess at the moment,” she said.

“We can’t afford to treat the people who have paid into it all their lives, let alone foreign women who want to get rid of unwanted pregnancies.”

Kevin Barron, the Labour chairman of the Commons health select committee, said: “The NHS should certainly not be funding terminations for Polish women.

“This would be against all the regulations and if a woman who is not British attempted to get a termination here I would hope they’d be turned away.”

Tory MP Anne Widdecombe said: “When the Abortion Act was liberalised I said it would turn Britain into the abortion capital of Europe. That seems to be exactly what’s happened.”

A Department of Health spokesman insisted last night there is no provision for Polish women to travel to the UK for abortions.

The Polish advert is in the style of the Mastercard telly adverts here in Britain.

It reads: “Plane ticket to England at special offer – 300 zloty (£70). Accommodation – 240 zloty (£56). Abortion in a public clinic – 0 zloty.” At the bottom of the poster it says: “Relief after a procedure carried out in decent conditions – priceless.”
