Precious Life travelled to Dublin to unite with 10,000 people from all across Ireland for a massive Vigil for Life outside the Irish Parliament (Dáil Eireann)
Precious Life organised a bus for people from Northern Ireland to attend the candle-light vigil. Thousands packed the streets outside the Dáil to send out a clear message that killing unborn children was totally unacceptable to the people of Ireland - north and south.
Speaking to media after the Vigil, Director of Precious Life - Bernadette Smyth said, "Ireland is under attack! We must speak up now and take a stand for life."
She added, "The push to legalise abortion in Ireland - north and south - is stronger than ever. In Northern Ireland, Marie Stopes International want to start killing unborn children at their illegal abortion ‘clinic’ in Belfast. In the Republic of Ireland, pro-abortion groups and politicians are pushing hard to legalise the killing of unborn children by using recommendations of the so-called ‘expert group’ on a European Court ruling which called for abortion legislation. "
Bernadette Smyth concluded, "This massive turn-out of people on a cold December evening shows that the vast majority of people on the island of Ireland want our unborn babies and their mothers protected from abortion. Precious Life has organised other Candle-light Vigils in Northern Ireland. On Sunday 9th December, a Candle-Light Rosary Procession will be held in Derry City Centre. On Saturday 22nd December, a Candle-Light Prayer Vigil will be held outside the Marie Stopes abortion ‘clinic’ in Belfast."
