Human Rights begins at conception!!
Yesterday Bernadette Smyth and her legal representatives, Aiden Carlin and Ciaran Brannigan from Carlin Solicitors, Belfast arrived at the Court of Appeal in Belfast to hand in Precious Life’s submission as a third party intervener in the appeal against Mr Justice Horner’s ruling last December in which he declared that our pro-life laws protecting unborn children conceived in rape and incest and unborn children diagnosed with life-limiting disabilities were incompatible with Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
In the submission, Precious Life presented the dangerous psychological and emotional side effects a mother is likely to suffer after aborting her unborn child with a life-limiting disability and shared moving testimonies of mothers from Every Life Counts. Perinatal hospice care as a positive and practical alternative to the legalisation of abortion was also presented.
Precious Life is calling for Mr Justice Horner’s decision to be overturned and the appeal upheld.
