MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT

Did you know, in Britain since 1967, nearly 8 million unborn babies have been brutally murdered by abortion? That’s 200,000 abortions every year, 600 every day. In fact, the Westminster Parliament is the most anti-life government in Europe. In this election, we all have a political responsibility to ensure that the most vulnerable in society are protected. That’s why we are urging you to vote pro-life on May 7th.

Unlike the rest of the UK, the people of Northern Ireland have consistently opposed the introduction of abortion and the extension of the 1967 Abortion Act by electing pro-life politicians.

DESPITE THIS, THERE IS A CONCERTED PUSH TO LEGALISE ABORTION ON DEMAND IN NORTHERN IRELAND

In October 2012, Marie Stopes International, the largest abortion provider in the world, set up a private centre in Belfast, threatening our pro-life laws and with the full support of Sinn Féin, the Green Party and the Alliance Party. This multinational abortion provider is notorious for moving into countries where abortion is illegal with the intention of changing the law through breaking the law.

On 8th October 2012, David Ford, the Minister of Justice, launched a public consultation on legalising abortion in Northern Ireland for terminally ill unborn children and in cases of rape and incest.

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is demanding the introduction of abortion right up to the moment of birth, and Amnesty International want to bypass democracy and force abortion in by the back door.

It is therefore important that we are actively vigilant in using our vote and our voice on 7th May, to elect political candidates who are prepared to stand up and speak out for the rights of the most vulnerable in our society, our unborn children.

GUIDE TO NORTHERN IRELAND'S POLITICAL PARTIES' VIEWS ON ABORTION

ALLIANCE: The party leader, David Ford, is seeking to legalise abortion in cases of ‘fatal foetal abnormality and sexual crime’. In March 2013, Alliance voted against an amendment that would have closed Marie Stopes in Belfast. Abortion is a matter of individual conscience for members. For an individual candidate’s stance, contact 028 905 21314 or email alliance@allianceparty.org

In March 2013, Sinn Féin signed a petition of concern which blocked an amendment that would have closed Marie Stopes in Belfast. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PROTECT UNBORN CHILDREN?

Before you vote, you must ask candidates where they stand on the abortion issue. You must ask them, if elected, will they promise to speak out and defend the right to life of the unborn child in all circumstances. If they cannot guarantee this, they cannot be considered suitable candidates for Westminster, no matter how appealing their other policies may be. If a candidate is unwilling to protect the life of a little baby, how is he or she supposed to respect your life? Without the right to life, all other rights are meaningless.

RED LETTER DAY

We are also calling on you, the electorate to make 1st May a RED LETTER DAY for unborn children. We need you, your family and friends to bombard candidates by phone, email, facebook, twitter or just call into their offices. We want you to ask them one question:

If elected, will you defend the right to life of all unborn children? (see page 3 for candidates contact details)

For more information on individual candidates, telephone: 028 9027 8484. You can help protect the lives of our unborn children by distributing more of these leaflets in your area.

On the 7th May 2015, make your vote count for our unborn children.
