Make a Donation VOTE FOR LIFE Campaign 2010 Precious Life bring pro-life message to Political Parties` Headquarters before election ![]() After weeks of hard work our Vote for Life campaign has produced results.
In the run up to the Westminster election, Precious Life volunteers were out everyday tirelessly canvassing for life. We encouraged all pro-lifers to bombard their political parties and their candidates with telephone calls, emails and letters, asking them to oppose abortion and defend the right-to-life of our unborn children. In the final few days before the election we visited the Headquarters of the Political Parties in Northern Ireland and handed in our declaration stating"On behalf of the pro-life majority in Northern Ireland, Precious Life ask you to uphold the right to life of all unborn children" This massive lobby campaign showed the politicians that the right-to-life is a most important issue to the people of Northern Ireland. The election result reflects the strong pro-life views of the majority of people here. We also have the assurance from newly elected politicians that they will speak out and defend the right to life of our unborn children at Westminster. ![]() Precious Life volunteers on the Vote for Life Campaign trail - a leaflet drop to thousands of homes across Northern Ireland Precious Life's province-wide leafleting campaign - urging the public to vote only for candidates who will oppose abortion - steps up a gear in the final week before the Westminster Election on 6th May. Over the past two weeks, thousands of our VOTE FOR LIFE Campaigns leaflets [see below] have been distributed by members of Precious Life across Northern Ireland. The leaflet urges voters to ask candidates to promise to speak out and defend the right to life of unborn children.
Our LOBBY FOR LIFE Campaign began on Wednesday 28th April and runs unril election day (Thursday 6th May). We are encouraging the millions of pro-lifers in Northern Ireland and Britain to bombard the Political Parties and their candidates with telephone calls, emails and letters, asking them to oppose abortion. This campaign will show the politicians that the right to life is THE most important issue for us when voting in elections. Ask the candidates to promise to defend the right to life of our unborn children. If they are unable to make this promise, tell them you cannot consider them as a suitable candidate for political office, no matter how appealing their other policies may be. If a candidate cannot respect the life of a little baby, how can you trust them to respect your life? There is a concerted campaign by international pro-abortion groups to legalise abortion here. Northern Ireland is being targeted by International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the United Nations CEDAW committee. Locally, the Department of Health has issued guidelines that will effectively legalise abortion in Northern Ireland ‘through the back door’. The politicians we elect to the Westminster Parliament must defend the pro-life ethos of Northern Ireland and speak up for the rights of unborn children. We acknowledge that abortion is not the only issue facing voters but the right to life must be foremost - for on that right, all other rights depend. ![]() ![]() |
