BBC Radio 1's youth news programme - NEWSBEAT – want to open up the debate on abortion in the UK so they came to Northern Ireland to speak to Precious Life.

The BBC Team contacted us a few weeks ago to tell us they would be travelling from London to Northern Ireland because they were really keen to speak to some of our younger volunteers.

We arranged for the team to meet with members of Precious Life Youth.

The BBC team recorded their news show in Derry on Wednesday 12th January where they interviewed Daniel McCabe - spokesperson for Precious Life Youth.

Daniel – an 18yr old student from Belfast who plans to study medicine – explained why he volunteers his free time to go out onto the streets of Northern Ireland and be a voice for unborn children.

We will update you with details of the broadcast date for the programme as soon as we get it.

Precious Life Youth are the new generation of pro-life activists.

They are made up of young people from across Northern Ireland have entered the struggle against the “culture of death” and taken up the challenge to bring the pro-life message to other young people.

Every Saturday they set up a Street Information Table in the towns and cities across Northern Ireland. They set up our Display Board showing the humanity of the unborn, the reality of abortion, and the harm it does to women. They also distribute Pro-Life Information Leaflets and collect signatures in our Petition against abortion.

Throughout the year they organise various public demonstrations to defend the right to life and show their opposition to abortion.
