20 / 03 / 2008 - New website to give ´real facts´ on the Lisbon Treaty
A new website - www.lisbonvote.com - will be ‘one of the main planks in a comprehensive campaign against the Lisbon Treaty’ according to Cóir, the pro-sovereignty organisation. They hope the website, which will be launched next week, will be used by voters who are confused about the Treaty and ‘are looking for real answers’.

Richard Greene, a spokesman for Cóir, said that the site contained the answers to the commonly asked questions about the Treaty and included a ‘Short Guide to the Lisbon Treaty’, a section explaining ‘The Case for a No Vote’ and another section answering the question ‘Is it a Treaty or a Constitution’. Daily news updates would be featured and sent to subscribers. The website also made the text of the Treaty of Lisbon available to users.

Mr Greene said that the website was designed to be as user-friendly as possible and that Cóir would be investing in advertising to ensure a large section of voters visited the site. ‘A large amount of people use the internet to look for information and we believe that our website leads the way in providing honest, factual information about this crucial vote,’ he added.

Meanwhile, campaigns to allow the people to vote on the Treaty are growing in strength in Poland while the Treaty faces a constitutional challenge in Germany.
