20 / 02 / 2008 - Man accused of unborn baby death
A Merseyside man accused of killing his unborn child has appeared in court.
David King, of Thomas Drive, Broad Green, is alleged to have kicked his girlfriend, Hayley Cain, in the stomach while she was 30 weeks pregnant.
Mr King, 30, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court charged with child destruction and two counts of assault on Miss Cain.
The alleged attack took place on Christmas Eve, during which Miss Cain lost the baby she was carrying.
Mr King, who appeared via video link from Walton Prison, was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 19 April.
