Director of Precious Life, Bernadette Smyth has welcomed the statement from the Northern Ireland Health Minister who told the Northern Ireland Assembly on Monday 26th November 2012, that unborn children must be protected.

Bernadette Smyth said, "We welcome the statement from Mr Edwin Poots MLA in which he stated that the position of the Department of Health is to save and protect life, and that includes both the born and unborn.

She concluded, "Health professionals must always recognise that in every pregnancy they are treating two patients - the mother and her unborn baby."
