12 / 03 / 2012 - Precious Life celebrate `100,000 Lives Saved` at LIFE FEST in Dublin

Precious Life joined hundreds of pro-lifers from across Ireland who gathered in Dublin on Saturday 10th March for LIFE FEST - celebrating 100,000 babies lives saved from abortion since since the notorious ‘X case’ in 1992.

This special event organised by Youth Defence celebrated 20 years of “Keeping Ireland Abortion-Free”

Precious Life organised a coach to bring people from Northern Ireland to the up-beat, positive, family event. Young people born since 1992 released THANK YOU balloons, symbolising the 100,000 Irish lives spared from abortion in the last 20 years. Thank-you cards and heart-shaped lollipops were distributed to passers-by in the city centre.

The event was held to inform the public that, because the Irish people have stood for LIFE since 1992, 100,000 babies have been saved from abortion, and their mothers saved from the destruction and regret that the abortion industry brings to women's lives.

Director of Precious Life Bernadette Smyth said, "At this crucial time, we're making our pro-life voices heard - we're showing that Ireland is still firmly opposed to abortion."

Right now, we’re seeing the most strident and organised push for abortion since the X case. Pro-abortion politicians are putting abortion legislation before the government, and state-funded quangos are clamouring for abortion legislation.

Niamh Ui Bhriain from the Life Institute said “As long as the pro-life majority makes their voices heard, women and children can and will be spared the tragedy that is abortion.”

Bernadette Smyth concluded, “It’s such an honour and privilege to be here today to celebrate 100,000 babies’ lives saved. We are so proud to live in a country that still protects its unborn children. Ireland protects and respects both mothers and babies; that’s something all Irish people should be proud of.”
