On Ash Wednesday (22nd February) Precious Life launched Lent for Life - our dynamic pro-life campaign consisting of Prayer, Fasting, and Activism. During this powerful Lenten Campaign we are placing extra emphasis on encouraging more people to join our daily Prayer Vigils outside the abortion centres in Northern Ireland and England.

In Northern Ireland, our Prayer Vigils are at the FPA Abortion Referral Agencies in Belfast and Derry.

In England, our Vigils are at the Abortion Clinics in Stockport and Stoke - the South Manchester Private Clinic in Chester Road, Hazel Grove, Stockport and Stoke and the Pregnancy Advisory Service in Wharf Street, Newcastle Under Lyme.

Precious Life members from Northern Ireland travelled to England to launch the Lent for Life Campaign at a special 'Pro-Life Information Evening' in Crewe.

The following day, our dedicated volunteers braved the torrential rain to hold a Prayer Vigil outside the Hazel Grove clinic. They talked to the women going into the clinic, gave them educational leaflets and offered them help and support to choose life for their babies.

Janet - a Precious Life member from England - has been witnessing for life outside abortion clinics for over 15 years. She has seen a three-fold increase in the numbers of abortions carried out at the Hazel Grove clinic. Janet said, “We need a new approach in this battle, and Precious Life is showing us the way

And the wonderful news is that, already, 9 babies have been saved. Praise God! Nine women have turned away from the clinic after speaking to Precious Life members, and receiving our literature.

We hope our Lenten campaign will inspire people who have never been involved in pro-life activities to come forward and take part in this vital life-saving work.
