01 / 07 / 2011 - People across Ireland preparing to travel to massive Pro-Life Rally in Dublin

Dear Friends of the Unborn,

There has been a fantastic response from the people of Ireland to plans for a massive pro-life rally to be held in Dublin City Centre tomorrow (Saturday 2nd July at 2.00pm, assembling in Parnell Square.) Buses have been booked from all over Ireland to take people to the ‘Rally for Life’.

Over the past few months, we have been running an intensive promotional campaign for the Rally, including the distribution of thousands of leaflets and posters, street information stalls, and Information Evenings across Northern Ireland.

We have also been co-co-ordinating the buses travelling to the Rally. Buses will be leaving from villages, towns and cities across Ireland. I am really excited about this year’s event which will be a wonderful, colourful display. There will be a jubilant atmosphere as thousands gather with balloons, flags, banners and music to ‘celebrate life’. ”

We will be celebrating the success of our recent VOTE FOR LIFE Campaign – where we asked people to vote only for candidates in our Assembly Election who made a pledge to oppose abortion and defend the right to life of unborn children. Our campaign produced fantastic results with a majority of pro-life politicians elected making our Assembly the strongest pro-life government in Europe.

Niamh Ui Bhriain of the Life Institute in Dublin says this year's Rally for Life is also a reminder to the recently elected Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, to keep his pro-life promise.

She said, “Tomorrow in Dublin, thousands of people from across Ireland will gather for the Rally for Life with a special message for the Taoiseach – ‘We welcomed the pro-life commitment you made during Election 2011, when Fine Gael said it was opposed to the legalisation of abortion. Now we're asking you to keep that pro-life promise!’

We are showing the rest of the world we are proud that - at a time when abortion has become the norm in so many other countries - Ireland still protects and cherishes her unborn children. It is very important the world sees a united display that shows the extent of pro-life support in Ireland, north and south. The Rally will send out a clear message that Ireland is pro-life and proud!
